Triple room on the second floor and it is dedicated to the duchess Angela Castriota Scanderbeg, wife of Ferdinando Orsini d’Aragona. Her family had Albanian origins and moved to Ferrandina in a large landed estate, in the province of Matera. The estate was granted from Ferdinando to the Scanderbeg family as a sign of gratitude for their help against the Angevins. With the death of Giorgio Castriota Scanderbeg, Albania was again controlled by Turkey and a countless number of families immigrated to South Italy to escape the persecution. In particular an Albanian community settled down in Gravina, giving rise to a quarter named "dei Greci" (namely "Greek", with regard to people coming from the other side of Adriatic). It is right here that our rooms are located.
In the nearby church "Santa Sofia" you can visit the mausoleum dedicated to the duchess and commissioned by her husband at the time of her untimely death in 1518.
The comfortable room is fully furnished with air conditioning, TV-color LCD, private bathroom with shower box, minibar and extras.
